Tracing an attic leak to the roof covering
Water appearing in an attic can travel from the point where it first entered. On this Galway City job, the roof was inspected and damaged concrete tiles were found close to a valley—one of the areas responsible for carrying a high volume of rainwater from the roof.
The affected tiles were lifted to expose and inspect the junction. Broken material and debris were removed before the concrete tiles were repaired and reinstated around the valley.
- Attic leak investigated from the roof
- Damaged concrete tiles identified beside the valley
- Affected section opened for inspection
- Broken material and debris removed
- Concrete tiles repaired and reinstated
Found a leak in your attic?
Call John as soon as it is safe to do so. If possible, take photographs of the damp area from inside the attic without touching wet electrics or climbing onto the roof. The visible stain may not be directly below the external defect, so a roof inspection can be important.
