Rebuilding the roof with reclaimed slate
The roof slopes were prepared with a new weatherproof roofing underlay and timber battens. Reclaimed natural slates were then sorted and installed to retain the traditional character of the property while renewing the roof covering.
Careful setting out was required across the changing roof slopes and around the chimney, valleys and leadwork. The photographs show the new felt and battens and the reclaimed slate installation in progress.
